Smoke-free Bar Campaign (Spring 2004 - ongoing)
The purpose of the smoke-free bar campaign is to encourage students to advocate—on their own behalf—for smoke-free bars. Bar owners don’t think students care about the smoky air in the bars. This campaign gives students a voice to let bar owners know they want clean indoor air in the bars. Read Patrick Murphy’s testimony delivered at the Pennsylvania Senate Hearing on the Clean Indoor Air Act (SB 602), September 27, 2006. On November 14, Jessie Clippard, Joe Schwork, and Sarah Wherry of PSSTA presented the keynote address at the Cambria County Youth Tobacco Conference, sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
